HUNTER LAING BUNNAHABHAIN 1991 AGED 27 YEARS
Bottled by Hunter Laing for their Old Malt Cask range, we have a 1991 vintage Bunnahabhain Single Malt Whisky aged 27 Years. It was filled into a first fill hogshead cask number 17325 in 1991 where it remained until bottled at a cask strength of 50% ABV.
On the nose it is aromatic with fruits and biscuity malt. The fruit is citrus, more specifically maybe a clemetine, but definitely orange. There are floral notes, soft oak and caramel.
On the palate it starts with a gentle honey sweet fruit with a velvety syrupy texture that coats the mouth with the glorious oils. There are spices, coupled with that orange note invokes images of oranges studded with spices gently warming in a pan with honey and syrup.
On the palate it becomes more oaky and a little drying, but not so bitter. Lemon and vanilla.
