DOMAINE CHEVROT MARANGES 1ER CRU "LA FUSSIERE" ROUGE
Premier Cru whites are rare in the Maranges appellation, but they produce great Burgundy Chardonnays of remarkable intensity and power.
This 1er Cru is ploughed entirely with a winch because of the steep slopes.
Ripe, fruity aromas of preserved lemon mingle with spicy rose. Very persistent, the wine is enhanced by a long, crystalline mineral aftertaste and a finish dominated by the sapid, smoky texture so distinctive of flint.
This Cru will stand the test of time but will do wonders now with foie gras or langoustines.
