DOMAINE DE CHASSORNEY VOLNAY QVERIS
Produced in the Volnay appellation, this red wine stems from old Pinot Noir vines planted at the foot of the hillside, on dense, stony soils mainly consisting of red clay, iron and limestone. The parcels nestle at an altitude of 230 m to 280 m, with ideal west and south-east exposure. The parcels are ploughed on horseback and meticulously cultivated with the greatest respect for the soil and biodiversity. The carefully hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes are left to macerate in whole bunches. The wine is matured in Qvevri, traditional, egg-shaped clay vessels buried underground that give the cuvĆ©e its name, to develop its depth and velvety texture.Ā
