PRODUCT INFORMATION

Located in Tavel, Domaine de la Mordorée is a family business created in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe. This winery is a vineyard of 58 hectares in the Southern Rhône Valley, and is divided into 38 parcels spread over 8 villages.

In 30 years, Christophe Delorme has raised the Domaine de la Mordorée to the level of the greatest. By the "love of the land", this perfectionist, passionate and visionary winemaker has chosen to respect the terroir. The estate is organic in its entirety, with a biodynamic approach in the land and cellar. The harvest is manual on the entire vineyard.

Madeleine and her daughter Ambre have been pursuing the work initiated by Christophe with the team he formed. They chose to preserve the company to which he devoted himself body and soul, in the respect of the main objective: to produce the best possible wines.

Ideally located at the crossroads of Provence and Languedoc, the Domaine de la Mordorée produces some of the greatest vintages of the Rhone Valley : Châteauneuf du Pape, Lirac, Tavel, Côtes du rhône and Condrieu.

Potent and intense, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape La Dame Voyageuse is a rich, dramatic bottling, the best I've tasted under this label. It's approachable now, but smart money is on it aging well for at least a decade. It's full-bodied and supple, with concentrated blueberry, mulberry and plum fruit, hints of licorice, cola and braised meat and just a dusting of baking spices (10% of the blend aged in oak). Tasted three times, with consistent notes. Joe Czerwinski - 01/11/2018
