FRATE MEURSAULT 1ER CRU BLAGNY
In 2022, Frédéric Cossard sold the "Domaine de Chassorney" to his friend Aurélien Verdet, with whom he had been collaborating for several years and who shared the same philosophy. This sale allowed Frédéric to devote himself fully to his new project: Fraté.
Fraté is a collaboration between Frédéric and a broker friend. The name means "brother" in Corsican and refers to their friendship. The wines are produced in Frédéric's cellar in Saint-Romain, in the same way as his merchant wines. Instead of immediately offering a wide range, there are only four different wines available for the first 2022 vintage: two from the Jura and two from Burgundy.
From the Côtes du Jura come a Savagnin and a Poulsard. In addition, there is a Meursault Blangny 1er Cru and a Corton Les Chaumes Grand Cru, two appellations that Frédéric had not worked with for years.
The results are breathtaking. The first vintage of Fraté is full of quality and expression. Wines of an exceptional level.

Meursault Blagny "Fraté" 2022 is an absolute rarity in the world of natural Burgundy wines. Vinified without sulphur or inputs, aged with precision, it offers a vibrant expression of the limestone terroir of Blagny: mineral tension, crystalline texture, aromas of candied lemon, white flowers and damp stone. A high-altitude white, pure, energetic, both complex and digestible.
