MONTRESOR AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA RISERVA 2012 (SATINATO)
Celebrating Montresor 130th anniversary. The limited edition of this Amarone Riserva, in its iconic satin-finished Montresor bottle, perfectly embodies this symbol.
PRODUCTION AREA : The oldest area of the Valpolicella hills.
WINE MAKING : The grapes, selected bunch by bunch, are harvested in the second half of September and left to dry until they reach the right balance between sugar and organoleptic concentration. After the “Appassimento” process, the grapes are pressed, and the fermentation starts with the maceration of the must over the pomaces for about 40 days. During this period, the pumping over is carried out twice a day. This technique allows obtaining more structured and balanced wines, thanks to the continuing stirring of the must over the pomaces. Then, the wine slowly ages in 55HL oak barrels for six years and refines in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
