Deep-rooted in very deep white clay soil over limestone, this seldom suffers the effects of heat. The sun's movement through the sky follows the orientation of the vine rows, therefore the fruit remains shaded throughout the whole day.Ā
What a wonderful pinot noir, there is so much to love about its lift and spicy notes. Up here you are not going to find the strength of Gevrey Chambertin or the seductiveness of Volnay, this is a wonderful area to discover cooler climate pinot. I am very much taken by this new vineyard and I know you will be too. This is a good-sized vineyard, nearly half a hectare, so I should always have good volumes from this site.

90-92 PointsĀ Neal Martin (Galloni) - "The 2021Ā Pernand-Verglesses Les Pins, from deep clay soils, was made with 30% whole bunches.Ā This has a relatively light, elegant bouquet with dark berry hints of Earl Grey. The palate is well balanced, with fine tannins, quite cohesive. An unapologetic pepperyĀ notes emanates from the stems on the finish. Delicious but it deserves time in bottle." Drink 2025-2033
Jasper Morris 4 Stars - 89-91 Pts - "Old vines, 20% stems included, pale in colour but a beautifully elegant light red fruit nose, plus some white pepper, then a tighter drier finish before the fruit floods back. Little baby raspberries, leading to a long and fine finish". Drink from 2025-2027.Ā
