REYNEKE BIODYNAMIC CHENIN BLANC
This vineyard was planted 45 years ago, which makes it the second oldest on the farm next to the original Chenin blanc vineyard. The Chenin blanc vineyard is now in its 2nd year of organic conversion period. Although the grapes are not as yet certified organic, the block gets farmed organically and according to the biodynamic principles. The wine is made with the same minimal interventionist way, as with all out other certified wines.
The grapes were whole bunch pressed before light settling before natural fermentation occurred in a combination of 300l second-fill French oak barrels and a 2500l foudré. The wine was aged on its lees for 10 months with a further two month ageing in stainless steel tank before bottling.
